Re-use & Restoration

Development on brownfield sites has become an important part of urban regeneration schemes in recent years. Previous historical uses have rendered many sites unusable and many have remained derelict for several years. Restoring these sites can provide a fantastic opportunity to the local community in providing a site that could be used for a wide range of activities from football pitches to nature reserves - the options are endless. As communities in our cities, towns and villages grow, the demand for local facilities has increased. Existing leisure facilities find themselves with sites that require updating and extending to meet the needs of the community. We provide a turnkey solution to these situations and many like them.

The Churngold solution

From the initial design through to construction, from conception to completion, our in house team of design consultants, engineers, environmental specialists and contract managers ensure that your project is undertaken in an efficient and timely manner. The team works with you, through all phases of the project, to ensure that your expectations are realised. Services are offered either as individual projects or as a complete package, including planning applications and liaising with the relevant authorities. Clients benefiting from these services include local authorities, schools, colleges, golf courses, football & rugby clubs and the private sector. We have adopted a novel but risk based approach to these developments. We use a range of wastes (for example soils, stones, and rubble) from the construction industry, which would normally be landfilled in developing and restoring these sites. By doing this we are able to provide a sustainable solution to both the site we are developing but also to our construction industry clients whose waste we are managing.

The Churngold guarantee

We ensure that all relevant authorisations are applied for with the authorities for these works. We also ensure that all materials imported are done so subject to supporting analytical information (where relevant) and supporting risk assessment. This ensures that we meet the requirements of the authorisations and also meet the requirements of our site-specific risk based Waste Acceptance Criteria.
